What a great experience! We came to Boone for a weekend getaway and to relax. This was a wonderful thing we added to our itinerary! The combination of the sauna and cold plunge definitely set the tone for a relaxing evening. My favorite part was that it was completely tucked into the property and it was private. We had the river with a beach to go into on one side and the farm on the other (complete with two horse buddies). We definitely recommend this!

My friend and I had a wonderful experience at the River Birch Nordic Sauna, which is one of the first true nordic sauna experiences available in the region. This was just the reset we were looking for, giving us the opportunity to truly unplug in the peaceful farmlands near Boone. The sauna came equipped with all the essential amenities, we also took advantage of the cold plunge add-on (highly recommend). We had the pleasure of meeting John (owner and operator) who guided us through the experience. He welcomed us with warm hospitality and we enjoyed learning about his story. We left the sauna feeling fully rejuvenated - we would highly recommend if you are seeking a soulful reset for the mind and body.

Loved loved loved our experience. The cedar sauna is in an idyllic location on a farm by a creek. The sauna is clean and smells divine. Get the cold plunge bath! It was so invigorating to go from the hot sauna to the cold ice bath. We were there in the evening so could look up at the stars from the plunge bath. This was the highlight of our trip. Highly recommend!

My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed our hour long sauna experience. We added on the cold plunge tub - something you definitely don't want to leave off - which was a new experience for both of us. A great way to relax on a summer afternoon in Valle Crucis. The cycle of 10 mins in the sauna and 5 mins of rest in the shade along the river after dumping a bucket of cool water can't be beat. John was very helpful and informative.

What a wonderful experience! We had a massage before and went right into the heat experience. It’s such a beautiful place to have a spa set up! The plunge pool was the best as well as having the river right there.

Situated in a field adjacent to the river with horses nearby, you couldn’t ask for a more perfect space. The sauna itself is beautiful + spacious, with windows framing the view. They’ve added a cold plunge tub with ice, which is great especially as the temperatures rise. I cannot recommend this experience enough!

My husband and I enjoyed a winter evening at the sauna and it was amazing. John was inviting, informative and friendly. He set the space up for a refreshing experience to include cold water, hot tea and chocolates! The seating area and set up right beside the river is serene. Perfect for those few minutes of cool down before entering another round of sauna. This is a great experience for dates, restoration and overall wellness. I highly recommend everyone check it out at least once!

This was an amazing experience. We did the Valentine special and he had truffles for us. He made sure that we were comfortable and had everything we need and then gave us space to enjoy the sauna. It is on the Watauga River and when taking a break, we could walk out and hear the river and look at the stars.

This has quickly become my favorite form of self care! I enter the sauna feeling stressed or in a funk and leave feeling totally refreshed. I can absolutely tell my nervous system is more regulated after a session.

It’s perfect to bring your friends/family/anyone visiting from out of town - it makes a great Christmas/special occasion gift too. You get amazing quality time (sitting with no phones or distractions) while helping your physical/mental self as well!

This Sauna is amazing!! Its clean, comfortable and BEAUTIFUL! It has so many details that sets it apart from a gym sauna… wood fire to heat rocks and essential oils added to water for steam. John makes sure his guests understand what to expect. Don’t skip the cold splash!
